RSS Feeds

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds are a standardized way to distribute blog content. Most blogging platforms automatically generate RSS feeds for their content. A public feed can also be saved as one downloadable file. Here's how to find RSS feeds for different platforms:

WordPress - add /feed to the end of the URL:
https://example.com/feed
A public WordPress blog can be saved as one file of its posts.
Medium - add /feed/ to the end of the URL:
https://medium.com/feed/example-site
Public Medium posts can be saved as one file of the articles.
Blogger: add /feeds/posts/default to the end of the URL:
https://example.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default
Substack - add /feed to the end of the URL:
https://example.substack.com/feed
A public Substack can be saved as one file of the posts. The tool costs nothing and needs no account.
Ghost - add /rss to the end of the URL:
https://example.ghost.io/rss
A public Ghost blog can be saved as one file of the posts.
Tumblr: add /rss to the end of the URL:
https://example.tumblr.com/rss

Other websites

You can also uncover the RSS feed of any website by using a Chrome Extension like Get RSS Feed URL: or checking the source code of the homepage and/or blog feed page. To do this:

Right click an empty area of the homepage (see image). Select "View Page Source," or any similar wording that may appear, according to the type of web browser. Search "RSS" via Control/command + F on the page. Look out for an RSS URL. This web address is what you'll need to plug into the RSS feed reader.
